Shire horses were used extensively as a work horse in the 19th and 20th centuries and Abbey Farm was no exception.  This suite tells the story of that past with historic photos, items worn by the horses and the original stable stall dividers that we removed and restored piece by piece.  You will still see the marks left by the horses and those who cared for them!

An antique writing desk, leather furniture and a 'dark and moody' colour theme complete the look, together with an indulgent bath in the bedroom area.  Old and modern sit side by side with smart TVs in both the living and bedroom areas, bluetooth sound system and full kitchen facilities including dishwasher.

In addition there is a walk through wardrobe/dressing area which leads onwards into the shower room and toilet where you will find sumptuous towels and amenities supplied from our partner 'Wild England'.

As with all our suites you will find a good nights sleep is assured with soft Egyptian cotton linens, our Signature Hypnos mattress and probably (in our opinion) the best pillows you have ever laid you head on.

Outside there is a private terrace area with dining table and parasol, as well as easy access down the steps into the shared courtyard garden area with its kitchen garden where you can select some herbs for example to add to your cooking.

We have included what we hope is everything you need to have a comfortable, enjoyable and also practical stay. It's all been personally chosen and tested by us and we try to constantly refine and improve things based on feedback from those who choose to stay here.
